Apple/Life/Bike and Build
I am going to say what I'm sure I'll have to repeat to any, still existing, anti mac people in the coming months. The reason Apple switched to Intel chips? They wanted to keep up with the market and have faster computers. Awhile back it was Motorola producing the chips, then IBM, in which similar debate in-sued. Recently IBM hasn't been able to give Apple the processor speeds or temperatures they needed for there computers. Especially laptops, the Apple laptops have been at a very long standstill with processor speeds, while the G5 was advancing. IBM couldn't get there chips cool enough or fast enough for the laptop. Naturally, in what I find to be a good business move, they looked to the best computer chip maker in the industry. Intel. There are all kinds of crazy rumors circulating and dumb claims, that I won't address. Mac's have intel chips now and yes Windows can probably run on a mac. Can the average user run Windows, no. Why would anyone want to? I don't know. But apple doesn't care: "That’s fine with us. We don’t mind,” Schiller said. “If there are people who love our hardware but are forced to put up with a Windows world, then that’s OK.” Will Apple create a Mac OSX version for a windows machine? Most likely not. It's a new step and I see it as a positive one, we'll get faster macs and better machines. Apple is still in control of the entire package, they still design and build the machine around there operating system and software. Thats the whole beauty of a mac. The only difference is now we will have better processors. Here is a pretty clever ad for the new Macs
In other news I'm living life and so is Sara. We both have our 9-5 jobs and are coming to the realization that our co workers are going to see more of us then each other. It's a hard fact to face, but it's true. Because of that we make sure we maximize on the time we do spend together and try to enjoy it as much as possible. We spent last weekend at a spa in Saratoga, getting massages, mineral baths, and such, very wonderful. All courtesy of Christmas gift certificates. I sure wish I could afford that once a week.
For those of you who don't check my never changing away message, this months Ladies Home Journal did a fairly good article on Bike and Build. If you get a chance pick up a copy or just read it in the store, it's only two pages. Let me know what you think.
