Presidential Portrait
So the President Elect, Barak Obama, got his photo taken yesterday by Pete Souza, the White House photographer. It's his official Presidential portrait photo. And the amazing thing for me is that it is the first EVER official Presidential portrait taken with a digital camera. The cool thing is that they posted the JPEG with all the EXIF data intact. For those of you who don't know EXIF data is hidden data the camera writes to the file (ie date, time, camera settings, software used) I'm a Canon guy and it was shot with the new amazing Canon 5D Mark II. Here is some of the data I saw on my computer.
To really appreciate the power of these new digital cameras you have to click HERE to see the HiRes file, zoom in to see how amazing the quality of the Canon 5D Mark II is!! It really is the end of film, slowly but surely it will become extinct not only for photography but cinema also.
